Suzanne Ramsey

Before becoming a teacher, I worked as a public accountant for Price Waterhouse, Inc. I decided that I wanted to work with children, so I changed careers.

I have been teaching in DPS for 28 years.  I have taught 1st grade as an ELA-S teacher early in my career, but my passion is libraries.. I have worked as a teacher-librarian for the majority of my career and I absolutely love connecting my students with the perfect book.  I am also very passionate about teaching students to become effective users of ideas and information, which are lifelong skills, through my technology and research lessons.

I have an Elementary teaching license and a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from Syracuse University.  I was actually born in Denver, Colorado when my father was stationed here for the Air Force.  However, my family moved back to Syracuse, New York, where I grew up.  I grew up in a large family as the oldest of 6 children. I have lived in London, England and Honolulu, Hawaii in my younger years, but I have lived in Denver since 1996.  My interests include hiking, traveling, scuba diving and reading (of course).  I have 2 cats and a daughter, who attended McMeen Elementary in the past.  She is a nurse at Denver Health.  I have been married to my husband, Tim, since 2017.
