¡¡¡Hola!!! Mi nombre es Elkin Barrera. Tengo 20 años de experiencia en el campo de la educación y ocho años de experiencia enseñando en los EE. UU. Soy colombiano y vivo en Denver desde hace tres años. En mi tiempo libre me encanta dibujar, pintar y hacer trabajos manuales, también disfruto leer, hacer caminatas y disfrutar de los parques. Sobre mis gustos … Me encanta la pasta, el café y por supuesto; la comida colombiana, mi color favorito es el azúl, mi música favorita es la música latina y mi cantante favorita es Shakira. ? La enseñanza es mi pasión y mi vida. Enseñar me inspira a hacer la diferencia en la vida de mis estudiantes, el cual va más allá del conocimiento.
Hello!!! My name is Elkin Barrera. I have over 24 years of experience working with kids. I have taught in the USA for 11 years, with six years in Charlotte, NC, and then I moved to teach in Denver. This year will be my 7th year of teaching at McMeen and working for DPS. I am originally from Colombia, which gives me a unique international perspective. In my spare time, I love drawing, painting, and crafting. I also enjoy reading, hiking, and walking in parks. About likes…I love pasta, coffee, and, of course, Colombian food. My favorite color is blue, and my favorite music is Latin and Electroc. Teaching is my passion and life. It inspires me to make a difference in my students’ lives, which goes far beyond knowledge.
