Mark your calendars! Reading is a top priority at McMeen, and we want ALL families to join us for a fun, impactful evening dedicated to building strong reading habits at home. This year’s event is all about empowering you with clear, practical tools—from handling tough words and boosting vocabulary to encouraging a reluctant reader—so you can support your child's reading journey outside the classroom.

Time: 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM
Location: McMeen Elementary (Auditorium, Classrooms, Gym & Cafeteria)
Schedule of Events
3:30 – 3:45 PM (Auditorium): Kick-off session with Principal Lauren.
3:45 – 4:30 PM (Classrooms): Meet with your child's teacher to learn actionable tips for home reading, receive free home support materials, and unwrap a special mystery book gift! Every student will also receive a custom plastic tub to kickstart their very own home library.
4:30 – 5:30 PM (Gym & Cafeteria): Head to the gym so your child can pick out 3–4 additional free books for their new home library, then join us in the cafeteria for a Family Pizza Party!
