Dual-Language Coordinator

Enrichment/Intervention , Instructional Leadership Team , Dual Language Coordinator

I’m from Taos, New Mexico and come from a Sephardim family. I’m coming to McMeen with a strong experience in both Dual Language and Multilingual Instruction. I’ve taught and lead Dual Language and Multilingual Education programs at the K-12 level including DPS and Cherry Creek. I’m grateful to have received leadership training from the University of Denver (MA and PhD) and from the Harvard Graduate School of Education (Principal’s Institute). I’m also the Senior Team Lead for the Dual Language cohort. As a trained Instruction Coach, my goal is to provide consistent support to our teachers thereby reinforcing our commitment to our community – students first in every classroom!

Although I’m coming to McMeen as an educator, I am also a parent and grandparent of former McMeen students. There was a time in the history of our neighborhood when McMeen was the DPS magnet school for Highly Gifted and Talented students. I’m proud to say that both my daughter and son were students here during that time. Years later, my granddaughter, Isabella Thallas, began her schooling in Kinder at McMeen. Obviously, our family loves this school!

I’m looking forward to meeting you and working together as we continue the vision of Dual Language at McMeen Elementary School.
